Christmas and Nerw Year News

Nearly ready for Christmas, we have some New Year vacancies so please contact us.

We are very excited about a new development at Mayrose farm. We have a catering company about to move onto the premises. The kitchen and office are being set up now .
The Good Food Company will be running their business here from the end of January, so we will be offering a menu of ready meals to order from us for arrival nights in your cottage, or to have waiting for you after a day out.

Bargain holidays, old fashioned british is best

Mayrose is looking forward to Christmas and New Year holidays and short breaks. Here in Cornwall days are still mild and evenings can be cosy by log fires. I love a walk around the fields, visiting the ducks on the lake and coming back to light the fire with an armful of kindling gathered on my ramblings. A chat to the ducks on the way has helped the relaxation to click in.
Our ambiance , and the type of holidy we are so well appreciated for, are brilliantly described in the Times Travel section this weekend http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/travel/holiday_type/breaks/article5108632.ece .

What a great article to describe all that's brilliant about family holidays in Cornwall . Also that camping is so cool now, we have a site by the swimming pool, and a luxury camping experience, or glamping as some call it, with the described full sized beds in an amazing canvas safari tent, all protected by you own tropical mini eden biome, the Glamppod

Christmas and New Year are nearly here so please get in contact if you have queries over dates etc, we are very flexible and try hard to find you the days you want.

Mayrose late summer

How wonderful to have summer at last. We are fully enjoying a peaceful, quieter time in Cornwall and here at Mayrose.
The next tasks are picking apples, and moving this years increase in duck population down to the lake for the winter.
We are welcoming parents and young children, also short breaks are being requested...special deals for all.

We had a brilliant season with the Glampod...everyone loved living down there. Felicity and family brought their pony, famous in the children's books she is writing about Elsie the Pony. They had family fancy dress parties and enjoyed cosy evenings around the stove, candles alight everywhere. Bookings now available for next year from £400 per week, please phone us.

Where is our summer ? But in spite of quite a bit of rain, eveyone here at Mayrose seems to be very relaxed and making the best of Cornwall's attractions. After a wet day and freezer troubles and thus a few 'oh dears', my evening was made.....our delightful Irish guests presented me with these glorious wild flowers from the hedges up the lane. Father and daughter had a bouquet competition...both were winners.
There are even a few patches of blue sky showing!!!

Also today some cheeping from the incubator..so chicks about to hatch. Guess what the next photos will be ?

Mayrose Farm is aptly named...

Although it's June now I suppose! We have been having fantastic weather and everyone staying here is very sun tanned and happy.

There are still a couple of vacancies for June in the cottages, reduced prices for last minute bookings.

Our duck sitting by the pool has hatched a brood, they had to be removed from the pool rather quickly....not the place to rear the ducklings....
