Spring Again

It's so great to see daffodils just coming up, and a wonderful display of snowdrops down by the lake.
Our new arrivals are settling in well, Alfie Whizz and Petal are delightful miniature Shetland Ponies.
We love them to bits and hope all our guests will....
Then tomorrow I'm fetching 25 ex battery hens to join us, having had all my laying hens foxed in the winter I thought it would be fantastic to give battery hens a life of luxury......

Beast of Bodmin Moor

Strange things happen... prowling in the night

About 6 days ago I was talking with friends about the Big Cats; we were saying not a lot has been heard lately! Two days later I had a text from my nephew, who had been driving up the A39 past our place, and he and his wife saw a big cat, crossing the road from our land. He described it as puma or lynx like. Is this my telepathic skills calling one up!! We have lost a lot of ducks on our lake over the last 2 months, higher loss rate than previously. I am definitely shutting all my animals in earlier, before it gets too dark.

So they are still around and I have since heard that there have been sightings on the south of Bodmin Moor recently, and sounds of them calling.

Is there anyone else with recent stories or sightings of the cats, it would be fun to find out. Please let me know if you have any tales of the unexpected ...email me and I will put together a big cat report for the next newsletter. It really would be interesting to hear from any of you. I want to see one now! email - contact@mayrosefarmcottages.co.uk

Mayrose Autumn

We've had a great few weeks of early Autumn, still lots of visitors, and many enjoyable days on the beach. The walking has been fantastic, with semi deserted footpaths, coastal walks and blackberry picking..... apple and blackberry crumble in front of the log fire.

Our late arrivals are very sweet

We are composing our winter offers, special prices for winter weekends and short breaks, please keep a close eye on our website. We are now taking bookings for 2011. The Glamppod has several weeks already booked... and we are having ideas for more alternative, "ready made" camping ideas for 2011

We are looking forward to Christmas visitors, and are very happy to discuss variable booking dates over that period to fit in with the special "days".

Our peaceful surroundings remain unaltered, last night I was listening to owls calling in the surrounding trees....and in full moonlight...
